Yoga for Fertility Workshop with Cynthia Powers-Broccoli
Saturday, March 14th, 2:00-4:00PM
This workshop is designed for women or couples who are trying to conceive, either naturally or through assisted reproductive technology. Yoga for Fertility uses specific yoga practices to help stimulate and tone the reproductive system. Yoga also enhances the flow of energy and circulation through the body. Yoga helps regulate the body’s hormone levels by improving endocrine (glandular) function. Another incredible benefit of yoga is that it helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Participants will be led through a relaxing sequence of breathing, gentle stretching, and meditation that will help encourage successful conception. No prior yoga experience is necessary. In a recent Harvard-based study, women participating in a yoga and relaxation program nearly tripled their chances of achieving pregnancy.
*Space is limited so please register by calling CNY Healing Arts Center at 315.671.5755

Dr. Robert Kiltz strongly believes in the benefits of utilizing a combination of western medicine and eastern philosophies to provide an integrative approach to fertility care. A vision board can be a motivational and inspirational tool to be utilized during your infertility journey. Join us this month for a thought provoking discussion on life and how to live each and every day in a positive way as we gather together and spend some time creating our own vision boards. A Vision Board is simply a poster board with a collage of photos, words, phrases, etc. glued to it. This collage is used as a visual tool to help us to focus on the positive things in our lives and strive toward the goals we wish to achieve. If we can visualize it, we can obtain it!

Yoga for Fertility
Yoga is an ancient form of exercise and relaxation. Originating in India, yoga has become very popular in North America and uses different postures in order to help to improve overall muscle tone and strength. Increasingly, yoga is being used by couples who are experiencing difficulty getting pregnant, and wish to use natural fertility methods in order to improve their chances of conceiving. Of the many benefits fertility- based yoga provides, stress relief, strengthening and toning muscles, and balancing reproductive organs/hormones are most important for women hoping to improve fertility.
Harvard Medical School researcher Alice Domar, Ph.D., published the results of a study in Fertility and Sterility (Vol. 73, No. 4) that showed women who participated in a mind/body program, which included relaxation and yoga, were almost three times more likely to get pregnant than women who didn’t.
Below is a list of some of the benefits of Yoga for Fertility:
- Improved overall muscle tone and strength
- Improved the alignment of the body
- Improved breathing
- Improved blood circulation. This is especially important for improving fertility because increased blood circulation ensures that sufficient oxygen and nutrients reach the reproductive organs; improved blood circulation also increases overall energy and stamina
- Reduced fatigue
- Improved mind-body balance
- Improved positive attitude
- Minimized symptoms of mental health problems such as anxiety disorders
- Reduced stress – Reduced stress is an extremely important benefit of fertility yoga
At CNY Healing Arts Center, our sister company, we now have Yoga for Fertility offerings at all three locations. Give us a call today to schedule your first Yoga for Fertility Class or Workshop.

Infertility and the Internet

While the internet is a vast resource for information on just about any topic, It’s important to be cautious when searching for medical advice or facts. Infertility sites are especially wrought with misinformation. Many patients that we speak with have read wild stories about infertility-related scenarios that simply aren’t true.
There are many valid, reliable websites that patients can use as a source of information. Chat rooms and message boards can be helpful for some issues, but can also be detrimental because the people posting the information are usually not infertility care professionals.
CNY Fertility Center offers a specific message board hosted by our sister site CNY Healing Arts. On our message board is a special posting area which is moderated by CNY Fertility Center staff called “Medical Questions for Medical Staff”. To learn more, or sign up for the message boards click here.
To help with internet queries, we have listed a few useful, informative and accurate websites.
CNY Fertility’s website where you can access a multitude of information
about IVF and our center, including information on our monthly support groups, message boards and fertile friends program.
The official website for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. There is a special section devoted to patients with FAQ’s and other relevant information.
American Infertility Association is a patient advocacy group and also
offers a message board answered by an infertility specialist.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Reproductive Health
Information Source. This website hosts pregnancy statistics from all reporting IVF centers in the USA.
