Life is good!
[...] Dr. Robert Kiltz, our reproductive endocrinologist, said that something must have happened to Mark when he was younger in order for his numbers to be so low. (Mark had chicken pox for the first time at 26. Although, the doctors can’t confirm that was the problem.) Also, the doctor told him that synthetic testosterone is known to cause low sperm production and motility. Mark was placed on an infertility treatment. His medications were Follistim and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) every other day. [...]
I have not had my consult yet ( by phone on 8/17/2012 0830am ). I was hoping someone could help me. I am 30 years old and my husband is 34. We have two sons. After my last son (2 years old on opt date) we decided that we were done having kids and I had the esure procedure (blocks my tubes so eggs don’t drop and get fertilized) done. About a year ago I started wanting a daughter, at first I thought oh well can’t do anything about that. Then I started seeing girls and feeling horrible that I will never have a baby girl. I happened to go online and read (a lot ) about IVF/PGD and think that this is for us (my husband and I). I spoke to my husband and he agrees with me that it’s something to look into. With everything I have researched I feel the only thing I don’t know is if it is affordable or not.
As I see it I would need:
• at less a low dose of IVF
• harvest my eggs
• get Ken’s sperm
• complete the PGD
• implant in me two girl fertilized eggs
what would an estimate be. I just am looking for a ball park not a quote. Something to steer me to the decision of is this a realistic path or is adoption our future.
I appreciate your time and any input you can afford me.
P.S. I have to pay out of pocket 100% I have Blue cross Blue shield Federal Employee Program ( Basic) and I have already called they don’t pay anything unless it is a medical reason.
Hi Carey,
You should call the office tomorrow 800.539.9870 and ask to speak with Tracey Quinn, our Financial Specialist. I think a phone conversation with her would be beneficial to you. She can help answer some of these questions. If Tracey isn’t in the office ask for Lori Griffin or Christin Willis, they each work in the Financial Department with Tracey.
Best of Luck to you!
Christine

I was wondering if you do tubal ligation reversals. I had my tubes cut and tied (not cauterized) 5 years ago after the birth of my son. Things didn’t work out, and I am now with a great guy that has no children of his own. Go figure. We would like to try to get the tubal reversed before we think about IVF. Is this possible?
Hi Rachel!
Thanks for your question. Yes, we do offer tubal ligation reversal. I would suggest that you schedule a consultation. During your appointment one of our practitioners will review your medical history, and give you options and potential success rates. You can request an appointment here, and our scheduling team will be in contact with you shortly: http://cnyfertility.com/new-appointment-form/
Have a great day!
Hi I’m interested in information on iui. Does the Albany CNY office do these kind of procedures? If so how much would it be for a consultation visit to see if this is a option?
Hi Missy!
Thanks for your question! We do offer IUI, with multiple medication options. We have a huge scope of practice here, so we can really customize your cycle to your needs. Phone consultations are free. An in office consultation with one our practitioners is $300. This includes the face-to-face conversation, cycle planning, and a vaginal ultrasound (you can opt out of this, but it is recommended). This fee does not include any bloodwork that the practitioner may want to draw. However, you will have an opportunity to speak with our financial team before we do anything that would be an additional cost.
You can also contact our financial team directly before your appointment, and they would be happy to run your insurance information. That way, you will know ahead of time what will be covered: costs@cnyfertility.com
To schedule your appointment, please complete this form and our team will be in contact with you shortly: http://cnyfertility.com/new-appointment-form/
Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you!

Hi,
Dr. Kiltz and his staff helped us with IVF and we were able to give birth to our wonderful daughter who is now 8 years old. We have relocated out of state but will be in Syracuse in early August. Would it be possible to stop by and say hello? Our daughter wants to meet him!
JES
Hi Jes,
I’m sure the staff, and Dr. Kiltz, would just love that! Please call the call center at 1.800.539.9870 and they can help you to coordinate a visit.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all,
Christine
