Saralena & Jared's Story:
We got married in 2010 and started trying very shortly after that. We had several miscarriages in a row, all very early, and decided to take a break from trying.
We tried off and on over the course of the first 7 years of marriage and eventually we decided we would try to figure out why we were losing our pregnancies.
It was hard to get diagnosed because a lot of doctors wouldn't see us because the pregnancies ended so early that it was before their policy for us to come in to the office and therefore our pregnancies weren't on record so we weren't considered "high risk" and so we wouldn't be seen the next time early enough and the cycle continued.
Eventually we got someone to see us and we ran tests and it turns out I (Jared, husband) have a chromosomal translocation which given our history pretty much meant our options were donor sperm or IVF with PGS.
So after 8 years and 8 lost pregnancies we decided on IVF. IVF isn't covered in our state (until 2020) so we drove 3.5 hours both ways, sometimes up to 3 times a week to come to CNY in Latham to do IVF which is so much more affordable than anywhere near us.
Now we have our awesome 8 month old Greyson Nicholas Harris.
Favorite Team Member at CNY:
Nurse Niccole was awesome. We asked for her everytime and will again with our future embryos we have frozen with you. And Jaime that took my wife's blood all the time always did a great job.

Unique Moments:
We ended up doing 2 egg retrieval and two transfers with the first transfer failing. A high of our time at CNY was the first heartbeat as we had never seen one before.
Hope, Inspiration and Advice:
Always keep looking at your options and find the doctor that makes you feel comfortable. We went to an IVF place before CNY and my wife was set on not doing IVF after that but we liked all of our doctors at CNY and I'm not sure we would've gone through with it if we didn't. Do glad we did.
