Kelsey & Casey's Story:

My husband and I got married in 2017 and knew right away that we were ready to start our family. We were aware that it may take us a bit because I had PCOS. After a year of trying with no results we went to our first fertility clinic. We were told we were both young and healthy at 27 and with ovulation induction and timed intercourse we should be good to go! When it did not happen the first month we were upset and confused. We thought we had it in the bag! Come to find out we also had a severe male factor as well. My husband had to undergo surgery in order to fix the problems on his end. We underwent 11 IUI's at another clinic and then took the leap over to CNY to see Kris. It was the best decision we ever made. We tried 2 more IUI's, she knew and we knew we were at the end of our ropes, physically and emotionally. We decided IVF was the best option for us and then Corona came. Luckily we were mid-cycle so my treatment was considered "essential" and we were able to finish it out. We had one little embryo transferred and we are so excited to say we are expecting our first baby December 2020. We cannot wait. We are so thankful for everyone at CNY for all their hard work and helping us navigate this difficult process. Kris was so excellent and caring throughout the entire process. She was always a text away as annoying as I am sure I got! The nurses and receptionist got to know me and my husband and were always there to talk to and listen! For IVF we had to go to Syracuse and we were so impressed with the facilities there as well as the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and it was such a great experience. My husband and I both say it was the best decision we ever made and the best money we ever spent hands down. CNY makes IVF affordable. We cannot thank you enough!

I found journaling was helpful. To get everything down on paper that I was feeling was so beneficial to me. At times I go through and look back and just cry reading it because I remember the amount of hurt I felt when writing it. It is amazing to see how far we have come.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

I have never been more challenged in my life physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is the most exhausting process in the entire world. It is so hard not to compare yourself to other people. When it just happens for others so easily I would look at my husband and just start crying because it did not seem fair. We struggled, it was stressful on our marriage for sure, but it made us so much stronger as a couple and as the parents we soon get to be. We know that no part of this process do we want to take for granted. We are so lucky that God chose us to be the parents to this baby, and there is reasons that none of our attempts before this worked. We held strong that God had a reason for all of this. That moment you see the little flicker of your babies heart beat on the screen, every trouble you had gets erased and your love is poured into that little baby. I do not wish infertility on anyone, it sucks and it is not fair. But if it has taught me anything, it is our kid has an amazing Dad and I am going to be a pretty amazing Mom. Infertility helps you find that inner strength you never knew you had. You got this mommas!
