Ashlie & Nathan's Story:

My husband and I were married in 2013 and being the amazing father that he is, he helped me raise my three wonderful children from a previous marriage.

My husband had no children of his own and we always thought about having a child together. Our military service and finishing college was our priority until 2019, when we were ready to start trying.

I had a tubal reanastomosis at a different office and immediately got pregnant, but sadly, the pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage. I went on to become pregnant in 2020, but the pregnancy was ectopic. I went on to have another early miscarriage and another ectopic over a span of two years.

We were heartbroken and lost hope. I was so lost that I ended up leaving my position as a labor and delivery nurse because it was too painful to continue. We consulted a local reproductive endocrinologist and were quoted 20,000 per IVF cycle. This was not attainable for us. I was hopeless and became quite depressed.

Then I started hearing about CNY in the infertility circles and finally felt hope again. My consult was in February 2023, and I wanted to start right away because I was 36.

I had my retrieval and fresh transfer in March 2023, and it worked! I had been through so many losses. I was very hesitant to let myself get excited. I probably tested 1000 times but still had doubts.

The moment it hit was when I went for a six-week ultrasound, and I saw the tiny flicker of my baby’s heart. I knew at that moment this was real and I was pregnant.

We met our rainbow baby on November 14th and he is perfect. We are so in love with our sweet Roman and so very thankful for CNY.

Favorite Team Member at CNY:

Ashley, RN at the Syracuse office. She was the best. She has such a bubbly personality and calming demeanor. Her positive energy was infectious!

Helpful resources Ashlie & Nathan found:

I joined several IVF Facebook groups and they helped me through the IVF process tremendously. I did the acupuncture package at CNY and I believe it helped me.

I teach nursing at a local college and my students helped me through the IVF process and my pregnancy with positive thoughts and prayers.

The Moment:

The moment that I saw the heartbeat on the ultrasound at six weeks, I cried hysterically. I had four losses and was never able to get to this point.

Also, my husband and I cried huge happy tears during my c-section after hearing my baby’s first cry. It took four years and four losses to make it to that moment and it was so beautiful.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

Know that your journey may be long and have bumps in the road but it is worth it in the end. I wish I would have started with CNY.
