The Cost of IVF in Colorado
In Colorado, the cost of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) can vary widely, with prices ranging from $5,769 (at CNY Fertility) to over $30,000 at many other clinics. On average, one cycle of IVF in Colorado costs about $24,000.
These expenses can fluctuate depending on factors like the fertility clinic, medication, and additional services required.
This article outlines the key components of IVF costs in Colorado and offers strategies for making the process more affordable.
Factors Affecting the Cost of IVF in Colorado
IVF treatments in Colorado may be advertised for as little as $5,769, but some clinics can charge over $30,000.
The reason for this wide price range is that IVF packages are mainly a result of clinics charging wildly different prices for identical services.
Additionally, the cost of your IVF journey will depend on your specific needs and desires. Add-on services like genetic testing(PGT), frozen embryo transfers (FET), and multiple cycles can all add significantly to your bottom line.
Before discussing the costs of additional services, let’s break down the bare bones of what you’ll need to account for when determining the cost of IVF.
The key components that typically constitute IVF costs in Colorado include:
- Monitoring Appointments: For tracking egg development and the uterine lining, these appointments help schedule the egg retrieval procedure.
- Egg Retrieval: A procedure where a thin needle, guided by ultrasound, is used to retrieve mature eggs from the woman’s ovaries.
- Anesthesia: Administered during egg retrieval to ensure comfort during this minor surgical procedure.
- Fertilization: In the laboratory, eggs are fertilized, either through conventional IVF or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
- Embryo Development/Culture: Embryos are grown in the lab for 3-7 days after fertilization.
- Embryo Transfer: While many clinics offer fresh transfers as part of their standard IVF packages, frozen transfers often come with additional fees due to the costs of freezing, storing, and preparing the embryo for implantation. The choice between fresh and frozen transfers depends on factors like the patient’s health and treatment strategy.
- Medications: Although not always itemized by clinics, medications are a crucial part of most IVF cycles. Patients generally need to budget between $2,000 and $7,000 per cycle for these medications, which are essential for stimulating egg production and supporting the overall IVF process.
IVF Costs at CNY Fertility, Colorado Springs
At our CNY Colorado Springs location a single IVF cycle, including medications, can be done with our most popular IVF package for $5,769.
This package includes:
- Egg retrieval with anesthesia
- Embryo culture and development
- Cryopreservation of remaining embryos
- Medications (CNY’s most common stimulation protocol)
Note that our package price includes components that may not be included at other clinics (ICSI, Assisted Hatching, Anesthesia). However, our package does not include everything required for a full IVF cycle. We are transparent about these exclusions, and there are reasons for them.
Required Add-On Services
Monitoring: For local patients, monitoring costs an additional $995. We don’t include this fee in our base price because many insurance policies cover it. Additionally, many CNY patients travel from out of state or abroad and prefer to do their monitoring locally, allowing them to limit their time at our locations to just a few days.
For traveling patients, CNY requires:
- Remote Cycle Management: $150
- Local Monitoring Fees: Patients must pay for required ultrasounds and bloodwork at their local facility, typically around $1,500.
- Additional travel expenses: cost of driving or flying to CNY Colorado Springs, and hotel accommodation for 2-7 nights.

Billing through insurance will likely result in substantially different fees. CNY Fertility does not warrant or guarantee any price for services conducted or rendered by a third party and recommends everyone obtain written estimates from any medical facility involved in your treatment as well as verification of coverage from your insurance company prior to beginning treatment. In addition to basic IVF services, most patients will want or need additional services that can increase the total cost of an IVF cycle. As with our basic IVF packages, CNY offers add-on services at a fraction of the average cost in Colorado and nationally. Achieving a healthy pregnancy through IVF often requires more than one cycle. According to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), only about 26% of patients succeed on their first attempt. For the majority—around 74%—multiple cycles, typically two to three, are necessary to achieve a successful pregnancy and live birth. In Colorado, insurance coverage for IVF (in vitro fertilization) can vary depending on your specific insurance plan and provider. However, the state has made significant strides toward mandating fertility coverage. In 2020, Colorado passed legislation (House Bill 20-1158) requiring large-group health insurance plans to cover the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, including IVF. However, the law primarily applies to large-group insurance plans (50 or more employees). If you have an individual or small-group plan, you may not be covered under this mandate. It’s important to check with your specific insurance provider to understand your coverage and any restrictions. Many fertility clinics in Colorado offer financing options, either through in-house plans or third-party lenders. Additionally, grants are available to help make IVF more affordable, such as the CNY IVF Grant, which provides financial assistance to eligible patients. The cost of IVF in Colorado ranges from $5,769 at CNY to over $30,000 per cycle at other clinics, depending on the services included. Many patients will require more than one cycle, leading to a total cost that could range from $13,000 to $60,000. Comparing prices and services across clinics is essential to finding the best value for your IVF journey. Automatically Included
