Candice & Patrick's Story:
After getting married in October 2017, we started trying almost immediately for a baby. I (Candice) have a daughter from a previously relationship so we thought it wouldn’t take too long. About 9 months in of timed intercourse, ovulation tests and temp charting and still no BFP, we had a hunch something might be wrong and sought the help of a fertility clinic close to our house in July 2018. It was there that I was diagnosed with PCOS. We tried 2 Clomid/IUI cycles which both failed. We started a round of Injectables and planned to do an IUI cycle, but had to cancel the IUI due to OHSS.
We took a month off in October 2018 and went on vacation to celebrate our anniversary. Miraculously, we conceived our miracle baby on our own in late October 2018.
Our happiness was short lived, as we found out at a 7 week ultrasound that the baby had stopped developing early on and there was no heartbeat. I had a D&C a week later.
2019 started and I made some changes to my diet, started keto, tried acupuncture and massage and made an appointment at CNY for May.
The consult was in Buffalo but as soon as I walked in, I felt so comfortable and I knew that I was meant to be there. The consult went great - I felt like they addressed my concerns and put me on a protocol that was tailored to my needs.
Our first cycle at CNY was a letrozole/IUI cycle with immune protocol and recurrent pregnancy loss protocol. I was hopeful that we would get pregnant at CNY but I was absolutely amazed and ecstatic to learn our first cycle was successful. We were finally pregnant!
The first ultrasound and every ultrasound after that showed a strong heartbeat. I’m now almost 12 weeks and everything is going great. I’m so thankful to CNY for our rainbow.
Favorite Team Member at CNY:
Ashleigh in Rochester has a special place in my heart. She did my IUI and most of my ultrasounds. Every appointment I was greeted with a hug. I’m forever grateful to her for helping us achieve our rainbow baby.

The best part was telling my daughter she was going to be a big sister. She’s 8 so she’s waited a long time for a sibling and she already loves this baby so much.

Advocate for yourself and be apart of the process. Ask questions and don’t be afraid to call and message your doctors if something isn’t right! They’re here for you!
