Miranda & Andrew's Story:
My husband and I conceived our son naturally on our first try.
After he was born, we started trying for baby #2.
After many unsuccessful months, we tried medicated timed cycles. Unfortunately, all of those failed.
We started infertility testing which revealed I had PCOS and my husband had retrograde ejaculation. We still had hope we could conceive naturally just like we did for our son as we always felt IUI and IVF were financially out of reach.
After a few more unsuccessful years I started having a lot of pain, which showed I had an ovarian cyst that needed to be surgically removed. During this surgery, endometriosis was incidentally discovered.
At this time we decided to pursue IUI with washed sperm. All 3 cycles were canceled as zero sperm was found each time. We were devastated but determined to find a way to pay for IVF.
We immediately started saving every penny we could. This is when we discovered CNY.
In April 2021 I rented a place in Syracuse to stay for the entire cycle hoping for the best results. We opted to purchase donor sperm just to be safe. Luckily the urologist was able to obtain sperm through PESA.
Unfortunately, despite 17 follicles, 0 eggs were retrieved from me. Dr. Kiltz was incredibly kind and comforted me while I sobbed. He promised me this wasn't the end of the road and he would help us get our baby!
We headed directly into the next cycle and upped my meds. The next cycle did not go as planned, but we did obtain 3 eggs.
We excitedly went in for a fresh day 3 transfer, only to be told none of our embryos made it.
Heartbroken, we headed home again.
We decided to give my body a break for a few months and consulted with our MN infertility clinic, which reviewed our IUI And IVF cycle results and said they could only help us if we agreed to use donor sperm and donor eggs, otherwise, we would hurt their statistics.
We then consulted with Dr. Corley to come up with a new protocol.
In September of 2021, we went for retrieval #3. 16 eggs were retrieved, 8 mature, and 5 made it to day 5.
We transferred our best embryo and headed home! A few days later we were ecstatic to see those 2 pink lines!
That was the first time we had seen that since conceiving our son over 13 years ago.
On May 23rd, 2022 we welcomed our long-awaited baby girl! We are completely in love and can't take our eyes off her! Thank you, CNY for helping us achieve our dream!
Favorite Team Member at CNY:
We never met a staff member we didn't like! Everyone was amazing at what they do at CNY!
The Moment:
Our local infertility clinics were so concerned about their statistics. CNY is only concerned about their patients and helping them with their individual needs.
Hope, Inspiration and Advice:
Don't give up! It took us nearly 13 years but every heartbreak along the way was worth it!
