Priyanka & Sagar's Story:

My Husband and I have been trying to have a baby for years. We went to multiple doctors to understand why I was not able to conceive. We were faced with very rude doctors who turned us away, saying that I am a fool to think of getting pregnant with being overweight. I will be harming my baby, and I should not be getting pregnant. This was all without even doing any scans and bloodwork.

Fast forward to 2021, when I went to India and decided to see an IVF specialist who helped so many people in my family with various conditions. To my surprise, when I was at the clinic, I saw people of all ages, sizes, and fertility problems.

When I saw the doctor, she didn't even mention my weight, did a scan of my ovaries and lining, and said I had a good ovarian reserve and I could do IVF and get pregnant. The only challenge I faced then was I had to do everything in India, and it wasn't feasible for me or my husband. But it got both of us thinking: when doctors in India say we can get pregnant, why are doctors in the US saying we should not even think about it? That was my cue to change my US doc. I wish I had gone there sooner and started the process, but I guess god has his own timeline.

I visited another clinic in NY as soon as I came back. They did scans, too, and didn't mention my weight or anything. They wanted to go to the root cause of my infertility. The doctor found something wrong with my uterine lining and decided to do a biopsy. He also did genetic testing and sperm analysis.

A week later, we got a call saying that I had endometrial hyperplasia with atypia and had some pre-cancer cells. We cannot get pregnant in this situation as it will make me miscarry the baby and harm my body. We were shattered to hear this and the “C” word. I cried for days, but then the doctor sent us to the most amazing oncologist who made everything possible for me.

I still remember his first words: Do you want to have a baby or no babies for you? That is how I will treat you. He said, “I will make sure you have a baby, but this road is going to be very challenging, but the end will be beautiful. Are you ready for it?”

I was determined to have a baby, and I took the challenge head-on. From 2021 - 2023, I had biopsies every three months, took high dosages of progesterone orally that made me miserable, made me gain weight, shed so much hair, and changed my look completely.

I still remember all my anxiety attacks, mood swings, hormone changes that made me crazy, the nights I cried, and the nights I ran out of my house to get some air because I couldn't breathe. It was challenging, but my husband was my rock who helped me through this all and made me stronger.

Then, in 2023, I did my last biopsy and got a call from my doctor - “congratulations, you can now have a baby. Go get your baby?" I was in tears. I still hear these words and cry. I called my husband and told him, and we were both over the moon. I called CNY immediately to secure an appointment.

While I was going through the treatment for EH, I did my research on clinics that help people like me with the highest success rate, and CNY was the one for me.

Dr. Banerjee was amazing and laid the perfect plan for me. We did all the tests and went ahead with the plan. I did my egg retrieval with 6 follicles and surprisingly got 24 eggs out of them.

Dr. Corley was the one who did all the treatments, and I am so glad. I haven’t seen a doctor as sweet as him. He consoled me and gave me strength before the retrieval since I was panicking and afraid. I remember him saying, " Don’t worry. I’ll get all the eggs out from there. You just sleep and relax.” And he did get them all. I was crying again when I heard I had 24 eggs.

We decided to do a FET coz doc felt I might develop OHSS with a fresh transfer. The frozen transfer was a success. The very 1st time I did a pregnancy test was two days before beta. It was 4 am, and I couldn't sleep. It said I was pregnant. I ran and showed it to my husband, who was asleep, and he was overjoyed, too. He didn't want to believe it until the beta day. We got there and my pregnancy was finally confirmed!

Thanks to Dr. Corley and the CNY team for giving me a baby boy, Vihaan Bhola, born on May 16th. He is our sweet little 5lb and 13 oz bundle of joy.

I have been recommending CNY to all my friends who are having infertility issues and can vouch for them to everyone.

Thank you, CNY team ❤️❤️

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

I wish I didn't believe the doctors who said I couldn't get pregnant. IVF, IUI, and the other treatments are meant for anyone of any size and reasonable age who are struggling with infertility. Don’t let any doctor discourage you unless they have done full testing and found an untreatable diagnosis. Even then there may be many options. Don’t lose hope and don’t give up on your dream of having a baby.
