Sara & Jon's Story:
Jon and I got married in 2017 and started trying to build our family pretty quickly. We thought during our 5 years prior we were just 'lucky' to have not gotten pregnant without taking the steps to avoid it. We started trying on our own doing ovulation tests, checking temperatures and everything else you could think of in order to find our prime time.
We decided that we needed to seek a doctor's opinion to see how we could help our chances. We were diagnosed with 'Unexplained Infertility' which everyone knows is the most annoying diagnosis because you don't officially know how or why you aren't able to have a baby. We started at a local fertility clinic that had us do countless timed intercourses with no positive pregnancy tests. After many blood tests, ultrasounds, needle sticks we were still not pregnant and not happy with how things were progressing. With no luck, we started to look elsewhere for a different opinion.
That's when we found CNY Fertility in Syracuse who recommended we skip straight to IVF. They were prompt and helped us achieve our goal of being parents. We had our retrieval in July and because of blood levels were recommended to have a frozen transfer. I'm so glad we did because it was able to give my body the little bit of rest it needed. We had our transfer in August and a positive pregnancy test in September! Our baby girl was born in April 2021 and she is the most perfect thing we've laid our eyes on. We will be back to CNY for another transfer to hopefully give our sweet girl a sibling. Thanks CNY!

Unique Moments:
Some of the lows were constantly seeing people share their pregnancy announcements and wondering why couldn't it be us. We were deserving, we wanted to be parents. Why were we having issues?! After our retrieval I wasn't too optimistic after getting 19 eggs but having only 4 fertilize with not high gradings.
Our ultimate high was the first beta call we got after our 1st FET. It was positive! We couldn't believe this was it!
Hope, Inspiration and Advice:
Talk about how you feel! I thought it was better for me to keep it inside and deal with it on my own, but that just made everything worse. I was able to communicate my feelings and feel better about everything going on. Also, skip baby showers, parties, anything that doesn't make you feel comfortable. It's okay, and people will understand.
